It is said to dwell in the deepest of forests, often near sacred springs, where it protects its territory fiercely. The Grypthorus is an immense serpent with shimmering emerald scales that reflect light like jewels. Its elongated body is adorned with golden markings running down its length. It has piercing golden eyes capable of mesmerizing prey and fangs that jut menacingly from a wide jaw. The serpent's underbelly is a lighter green with hints of silver, while its tail resembles a sinuous whip, capable of striking with terrifying speed.
The Grypthorus once ruled over a vast territory known as the Serpent's Veil, a magical domain that was home to numerous lesser serpents. Over time, it became protective of the land after a betrayal from the inhabitants led to its near extinction during the great war of the serpents. Bearing the scars of ancient battles, it now resides in solitude, its heart still carrying the weight of its lost kin. Its rage turned into bitterness, leading it to become a fierce guardian of the remaining sacred locations.
